Gen 46:3
During a seven-year famine, Joseph acted to save his family and the nation of Egypt. God had specially prepared Joseph and raised him up to save the lives of many people. Praise God that in every generation he raises up faithful followers who demonstrate his mercy to others. God wishes none to perish (2 Peter 3:9) but calls all to eternal life.
MERCIFUL FATHER, you are the creator and sustainer of life. From the beginning of time you have raised up servants to honor you and show your deeds in every land. Make us instruments of your mercy to those around us. We give thanks for your unspeakable love, O Lord of life. Amen
