Charles Williams, a British writer and Christian apologist, once spoke of living “under the mercy.” Williams was expressing an important truth about our life with God. Our compassionate Father is always intervening in the lives of his children who are suffering and fearful. Consider when you have been under stress and in distress; then recall how God showed mercy and granted you the strength to persevere through your hour of difficulty. God will uphold and sustain those who call on his name.

Prayer and Praise
MERCIFUL GOD, in you our soul takes refuge. How we praise you for the life you constantly grant to us. Your mercy is everlasting; your compassion limitless. Let us never forget the grace you have granted us in Jesus Christ and the mercy and protection you have shown to your saints. Amen
