Gen 33:20
After his favorable meeting with Esau, Jacob built an altar to God and called it “God, the God of Israel.” By this he was acknowledging that the Lord was indeed his God. Jacob recognized that Esau’s changed heart was evidence of the power of God at work. Like Jacob, we should watch for and acknowledge God’s silent work in our life and the lives of others. The changed human heart is one of the greatest testimonies to God’s power.
Prayer and Praise
O GOD, the God of Israel, we confess our helplessness to change our heart or the hearts of others. Work mightily in our heart so that we may reflect your glory. We praise you and proclaim you as our God. Amen
